Indore : The regional office of Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) at Ujjain has received investment proposals amounting to Rs 5000 crore in the first five months of the financial year 2024-25.
Thirty-one industries from the sectors of automobile, pharmaceuticals, food processing, confectionery and toy manufacturing have submitted intentions to invest in the Ujjain region with the industry department.
"We have 31 industries intending to invest Rs 5000 crore in this region. Negotiations with these industries are at an advanced stage, and the process of land allotment will commence soon," said MPIDC Ujjain executive director Rajesh Rathod."
Delegations from interested industries looking to invest in Madhya Pradesh have visited various industrial areas and undeveloped land parcels. Majority of the industries contemplating investment are likely to acquire land at Vikram Udyogpuri and Maksi, say officials at the department.
"The process of land allotment will begin after a few rounds of meetings, followed by an assessment of the requirements of these industries. Most of the investors have already visited multiple sites, and given the interest, lands will be allotted to these industries in Vikram Udyogpuri and the Maksi industrial area," said Rathod."
Garment, textile, and food processing industries have primarily shown interest in acquiring land in Ujjain and nearby areas due to the availability of raw material and workforce.
MPIDC is establishing a common effluent treatment plant (CEPT) with a capacity of 5.2 MLD at an estimated cost of Rs 24.6 crore at Vikram Udyogpuri.
