TCS TO INVEST RS 500CR ON TECH CAMPUS IN INDORE

INDORE: IT major Tata Consultancy Services will set up a software development campus in Indore with an investment of Rs 500 crore in two phases. The first phase of 100-acre Indore campus, to come up in the SEZ, will become operational in a couple of years, said TCS chief executive officer and managing director N Chandrasekaran.
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday laid the foundation of Phase-I of the project at Super Corridor.

The project is likely to generate a good number of jobs, said state industries minister Kailash Vijayvargiya.Chandrasekaran said, "Indore is one of the fastest growing cities due to its business climate and infrastructure development. The city has a big potential to become a knowledge hub. TCS will give a fillip to the state economy by nurturing talent development and instilling inclusive growth. We are committed to working with all stakeholders in the state to provide high-end solutions to our customers."
"We are certain that TCS' entry in the state will open new avenues for economic growth of the state," said Chandrasekaran. The forthcoming centre will have full service facility, including consultancy, BPO and application development.
The world-class TCS campus will have software engineering blocks, training facilities, amphitheatre and a raft of other facilities to offer a holistic environment to knowledge professionals. The campus will incorporate several green building concepts like zero discharge, energy efficient systems, rainwater harvesting systems and integrated building management.

Vijayvargiya hoped other IT firms would soon set up base in the city.
More than 20,000 youths attended a youth festival the state government held in partnership with the CII.
The architecture of the building will be inspired by the Narmada river to give it a heritage look.
