Mpca Meeting Held, Indore To Finally Get Four More Grounds

INDORE: After a delay of nearly a decade, process for around 25 acre land for nearly four bigger grounds for Indore Division Cricket Association (IDCA) at the super corridor has been initiated.

A budget of Rs 41 crores for the cricket grounds which will likely be developed as international stadium have been increased to over Rs 70 crores during the Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) which was held on Saturday.

Owing to the pandemic, the AGM had been delayed.

The budget of Gwalior stadium which was estimated Rs 110 crores in 2013 has now been revised to Rs 200 crores.

Budget for infrastructure related works including the purchase of land in Indore have been augmented besides the budget for stadium of Gwalior. There had been umpteen hurdles and now things have progressed. MPCA is hopeful to get the land soon, CEO of MPCA, Rohit Pandit told TOI.

“Construction of Gwalior stadium has begun. The first phase of the Gwalior stadium with a capacity of 30000 will be completed by the end of December or by February 2023,” he added.

Gwalior stadium project had suffered a lot for over half a decade due to the stopage of funds from BCCI, Covid-19, GST etc, said Pandit.

Parents of Avesh Khan, Venkatesh Iyer and Pooja Vastrakar were felicitated.

After five years Ranji trophy team of Madhya Pradesh has reached knock-out stage.

BJP MP and former chairman of MPCA, Jyotiraditya Scindia told reporters that players of MP such as Avesh Khan, Venkatesh Iyer and Pooja Vastrakar by representing India have made MPCA proud.

The meeting was followed by award ceremony in which Rs 90 lakh were

Dilip Chudgar and Narendra Dua were conferred Lifetime achievement Award, Ram Atre and Vamanrao Jagtap were conferred Nishkarmyogi award. Pooja Vastrakar was awarded best senior woman player which has been renamed to Maharani Usha Raje Devi Award.
